Comparison
Metanoa vs Zanda: which fits your pediatric therapy practice?
On this page
Zanda, formerly Power Diary, is an easy, low-cost scheduling and admin system for allied health practices of every kind, with telehealth, online booking and free admin seats. Metanoa is built around children's therapy goals, from a solo speech therapist starting out to a clinic running speech, OT, ABA and PT across several branches.
Goals and session plans for pediatric therapy
Therapists pull goals from a bank filtered by discipline, record baselines and turn the day's goals into a session plan before the child walks in.
Parents involved in every goal
The Family Portal shares session reports with parents, lets them comment on a specific goal and gives families with two children in therapy one login for both.
AI notes and reminders on every plan
AI note drafts and appointment reminders come with every Metanoa plan, with no appointment limit. On Zanda, AI scribing beyond four sessions a month is $19 per user, and each text reminder is $0.09.

How they compare, feature by feature
Goals and session plans
Metanoa
In Metanoa, therapists pull goals from a shared bank filtered by discipline, record baselines and generate a session plan from the goals they pick for that day. Because therapists in the same discipline start from the same bank, goals are worded the same way across your team.
Zanda
Zanda's Growth plan includes customizable note templates, and its speech therapy page focuses on scheduling, notes, invoicing and reminders (Zanda). If goal tracking matters to your practice, ask in the demo how goals are written, tracked and shared across therapists.
AI notes
Metanoa
Metanoa turns dictation or jottings from a session into a SOAP, DAP, GIRP or BIRP draft, and nothing is saved until the therapist reviews and confirms it. It captures speech in languages such as Spanish, Arabic and Hindi and writes the note in your clinic's language. AI notes are included on every plan.
Zanda
Zanda's AI Core comes with every plan and covers unlimited AI writing and editing, four AI Scribe sessions per practitioner a month and summaries of a client's last three sessions. AI Pro adds unlimited scribing for $19 per user a month (Zanda pricing). A therapist seeing 25 children a week would pass four scribed sessions on the first morning.
Keeping parents in the loop
Metanoa
Metanoa's Family Portal is built around the child's goals. Parents get session reports, comment on a specific goal, sign forms on their phone and see photos or moments the therapist shares. A parent with two children in therapy uses one login for both.
Zanda
Zanda's client portal lets families book online and can take a deposit or full payment at booking (Zanda). To compare them fairly, sign in as a parent with two children in care, book a session, open a session report and sign a consent form on your phone in each system.
Running a team or more than one location
Metanoa
Metanoa organizes a clinic into branches and departments. Each team member works in their own department, rate plans can be priced by department, each department has its own form library, and billing analytics break down by department.
Zanda
Zanda's Growth plan adds multiple locations, room and resource booking, practitioner scheduling, an advanced waitlist and team messaging. Admin, reception and billing users are free, and only practitioners count toward the price (Zanda support). The Starter plan is limited to one physical location.
Scheduling and reminders
Both
Both give you a shared calendar, appointment reminders and a way for families to book online. Metanoa includes reminders on every plan, has an online appointment form, and runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or laptop. Zanda users praise its calendar for being easy to use and say text reminders cut no-shows, though some find SMS charges add up (Capterra). Zanda charges $0.09 per text and sends email reminders free.
Telehealth and insurance
Zanda
This is where Zanda is the stronger choice. It offers free telehealth, with Telehealth Pro at $9 per practitioner a month, and it files US insurance claims and prints CMS-1500 forms through a clearinghouse (Zanda support). Its pricing page doesn't list a claim fee, so ask for one in the demo. If your practice depends on payers or video sessions, choose Zanda or another tool that has them.
Metanoa
Metanoa doesn't file insurance claims or offer telehealth. Its billing is built for practices where families pay directly. When a therapist signs a session, Metanoa prices it from the client's rate plan by department, duration and amount, and holds it as a pending payment until you charge it. Each client has a wallet that tracks payments, refunds and adjustments (billing docs).
